At the present time George & I are working with the help of others to transcribe the Parish registers that are not already covered by the LDS site and we will put them on line here as we do them.

Good luck with your research.

 Baptism, Marriage & Burial Records

The Cornwall Record Office agreed some years ago to the photographing of the parish registers by the Church of the Latter Day Saints. Some of these have been transcribed and placed on the LDS web site for the use of on-line  researchers. Each of these records has been allocate a  Batch Number and Hugh Wallis has created a web site which allows you to do a speedy search  for any name which appears on the register in that particular time frame. Also included are the records of baptisms which took place in some of the non- conformist Chapels. These are listed under the parish where the chapel is/was located.

On the LDS site you will find the baptism records for Gwennap for the years 1674 to 1772. We are endeavoring to make available the years from 1773 onwards and as we transcribe the registers we will enter them on this site.

To search the IGI parish baptism records - click on one of the blue batch numbers below and this will take you to Hugh's site. You may have to scroll down a little to get to the Gwennap numbers. Click on the number and when the page opens enter a surname and good luck with your search.

Each has gathered information they consider relevant, and will answer e-mail inquiries. Some have websites and others do not, depending on the nature of their resource materials. If a request exceeds the resources the OPC has, they can often offer research guidance or referrals. For a list of all OPCs, and the parishes they represent, please click on the OPC-Cornwall link.
